Develop team cohesion, Challenge yourself

With the spring tide coming, spring is in the air in Wuhan. Our company Sinicline Enterprise held the annual spring outdoor activity in Jinyinhu Wetland Park on March 28, 2015. I was logistic personnel and did not participate in competitions during the outdoor activity last year. But this year, I’m the leader of one team. I felt so proud that I can lead a team to participate in the competitions.

The staffs of our company were divided into ten teams. And each team has a team leader. Each team leader gathered his/her team members and discussed about the coming competitions. I also gathered my team members and decided our team name, team song, pennants and slogan. Though it was just the preparatory work, the lively atmosphere and passionate slogan made us fell so close. We began to get to know each other.

Finally, weekend came. We arrived at our destination - Jinyinhu Wetland Park quite early. The commander of the outdoor activity soon announced the start of the activity. The team leaders started to count his/her team members and prepared for the coming competitions. There were four contests and a mysterious mission.

I was the leader of “Dream Team”. Our slogan is “The sky is spacious enough for us to fly, the land is wide enough for us to jump, let's fly higher beyond the dream”. All of our team members shouted out our slogan and rehearsed the parade formation show over and over again. Finally, our over and over again won applause from other teams. All of us felt so proud at that moment.

After the parade formation show, we had a counting numbers game. This game could test the responsiveness and teamwork. I gathered my team members soon and taught them some tips and tricks about this game. Finally, our team ranked first in this game.

The third competition was challenging to us. The whole team members must stand on a small area. We did not success during preparation. However, we succeed in competition. Though we did not won the game, we still felt so happy. We were super proud of our team.

The last game was rope-skipping contest. This contest made us think of our childhood. All of the team members forgot the contest. We laughed, jumped and shouted during the contest. All of us enjoyed the contest.

Our team did not won the top three, but we all felt so happy and proud of ourselves. We got to know the true meaning of trust and understanding during this outing activity. Our communication skills had improved obviously. This outing activity changed my way of thinking and deeply realized the importance of teamwork and creative thinking.
